Travel Retail Awards
The only consumer-voted awards dedicated to travel retail.
The 2021 Travel Retail Awards ceremony will take place during
the Travel Retail Consumer Forum at the Hilton London Paddington Hotel
on the evening of Tuesday 21 September.

TRBusiness, travel retail’s leading provider of duty free and travel retail news, launched the first and only consumer-voted awards dedicated to the travel retail industry in 2018 in a partnership with leading Swiss consumer research company m1nd-set.
The event’s popularity among industry stakeholders was mirrored at the second edition in May 2019 with double-digit growth in the number of entries. The event is now firmly established as one of the must-attend events in the industry calendar.
Following TFWA’s announcement that both the 2020 TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition and Conference and TFWA World Exhibition were cancelled, the Awards ceremony took place within the Travel Retail Marketplace (TRMarketplace) TRBusiness digital forum last year. Read more here…

The game-changing initiative and awards event recognises true ingenuity in travel retailing. It awards airports and products following a judging process, which involves expert research and priceless consumer blogger and video blogger feedback to crown the industry’s trailblazers.
Following popular demand and interest from the industry, the awards included the cruise ship retail sector for the first time in 2020. The 2020 edition of the consumer-voted Travel Retail Awards also featured consumers voting for the ‘Best Green Initiative at an Airport’ and the ‘Best F&B Offer at an Airport’. The ‘Green’ award has this year evolved into into two new awards: ‘The Best Sustainable Supplier’ award and ‘The Best Sustainable Airport, Airline and Cruise Retail’ award.
“The consumer-voted Travel Retail Awards was developed with one sole aim: to provide honest, quality feedback and recognition to airports, retailers and suppliers through the lens of the consumer. In turn, we are hearing from all participants in previous editions of the Travel Retail Awards that the responses garnered from bloggers/ vloggers and consumers via our partner m1nd-set’s database of international travellers are helping to simultaneously drive sales while increasing consumer awareness.
We’re delighted to take the highly-acclaimed Travel Retail Awards to the global industry summit in Cannes.
This is a natural evolution of the event, as it grows in importance and recognition. The format of the Awards ceremony will inevitably be different to the usual awards dinner and ceremony due to uncertainty over social gathering restrictions, but we’re confident the event will be highly anticipated by all, given the particularly strong interest we’ve already received in recent weeks.
We’ve been deeply encouraged by the extremely warm response to our Travel Retail Sustainability Week from all corners of the industry. The extension of the Green award into two sub-categories is again a natural evolution, given the fast-growing focus among all companies on sustainability across all sectors.”
TRBusiness Owners, Janice Hook and Nigel Hardy.
“Shopping is an essential part of the passenger’s experience and when they travel through an airport, their journey/holiday begins. The top airports around the world provide perfect environments for truly memorable retail experiences and it’s a time when customers can find unique and interesting products, sometimes for the very first time. We see from our research that they have strong opinions about the retail experience and are willing and enthusiastic to share.”
