Products:

Each product entered will be judged by more than 5,000 consumers, independently sourced from m1nd-set’s unique and qualified database of international travellers. Every single one of the consumers voting will have travelled through an airport within the past six months. This stage of the judging process will make up 80% of the overall score.

 

A panel of bloggers and vloggers (video bloggers), who possess a range of product and travel expertise, will also judge the products, making up the remaining 20% of the overall score. In addition to receiving information about each item, this panel will be able to touch, feel and try out the product during a three-day qualitative judging session.

 

Entry criteria for Product Awards (all categories)
Products either have to be already present in the travel retail environment or planned to launch imminently. Products previously entered into the awards may be re-entered. Unique attributes to the travel/travel retail sector should be highlighted, i.e. travel retail exclusives, special editions or travel friendly products. (100 words maximum + images)

 

Airport & Retail Awards:

The Airport Retail awards have traditionally been voted on by the panel of voting consumers also, from a selection of at least 60 airports, selected from each continent as per m1nd-set’s unique database.

From 2023 onwards the methodology for the airport and retail awards will change. These will be open to nominations from airports and their respective retail and commercial partners.

The panel of more than 5,000 consumers who have travelled internationally within the past six months will review the submissions from the nominees and evaluate these based on each award category: the retail environment, customer experience, digital and social media offer, sense of place, the airport food & beverage offer and sustainable retail initiative. The consumers will review the entries, scoring them on a 10 point scale.

The results will then be collated with the bloggers and vloggers’ scores, as with the product awards. For the Best Sustainable Retail Initiative, airports, airlines, cruise, ferry and rail companies or their retail and commercial partners can all submit their nomination. The same 80:20 ratio between consumers’ and bloggers’ scores will apply to all airport and sustainable retail initiative awards as with the product awards.

Entry criteria for the Sustainable Retail Initiative by an Airport, Airline, Cruise or Rail company.
Entries for this award can be nominated by airports, airlines, cruise and rail companies or any commercial partner: retailer, brand, F&B concessionaire, car hire/car park operator, design company. The initiative has to either have been undertaken already or in the pre-launch planning stages.

The nomination should outline the objectives of the initiative, how eco-friendly principles were integrated, how passengers were engaged, the results and the overall impact. (300 words maximum + images).
